Whitaker  and McGwire win Player of the Week award
The Hamlet's best player of the week was Sleepy Hollow's 
<a href=p692.html>Lou Whitaker </a>, who wins the award 
for the 15th time in his career. He had an on base 
percentage of .385 and hit .333, while driving in 13 
runs. Lou managed to drive in at least one run in every 
game he played this week. He now has homered in 7 consecutive 
games as well! <a href=p496.html>Mark McGwire</a> wins 
his 11th Player of the Week award. Metro pitchers couldn't 
figure out how to retire this guy all week long. Mark 
was on fire, hitting .438 with 3 HR and 9 RBI. He got 
at least one hit each game this week and is on a 7 
game hitting streak right now. Mark has gone 70 for 
281 (.249) this season, hitting 31 homeruns and driving 
in 71 runs. He has scored 65 runs on his own. He's 
6th in the Metro in RBIs and 3rd in homeruns!
