Mordecai Brown pitches his 3rd shutout of the season

SPRINGFIELD - Great days are rare. But not for Dallas'
right-hander Mordecai Brown.
Springfield found out the hard way that he is among
the leagues top pitchers, getting just 2 hits. It's
his 3rd shutout this season, and the 17th time he has
done it in his career. Brown (10-5) struck out 9 and
issued 1 BB, throwing 72 of 125 pitches for strikes.
'I'll have to give a lot of credit to my catcher. He
put all the right fingers down today.' Francois
Thomas provided Dallas with the offense Brown
needed as he went 3 for 5, hitting a double, scoring
two runs and driving in 3 runs. The final score of
the game was 12-0.
